Memorie lane

The kids have been using google earth everyday lately.
Traveling to places we visited, wanted to visit and places that has a little more meaning to us than other places.
Inspired I googled up pic. from places I grew up.
This is what I borrowed and wanted to share with you.

At this time of year you always could get lucky and see the Northlight. Not much to say about it other that is is spectacular to watch. More than once it could take me forever to walk home from friends, because I had to look up in the night sky the whole way home..

The Seven Sisters´, mountains and the town Sandnessjøen, seen from Dønna, an another island.

This little island ( the light grey one), Skorpa it is called, is were my dad is born and were he grew up. Our family spendt our sommer vacations there up til I had the age of twelve. The farmhouse got sold and it is one of my dream places to visit. Just to see if it really existed and how small everything is. In the background the island Dønna and Dønnaman.

This is The Rana fjord, Mainland is Nesna and the island to the right is Hugla, were I spendt summers from age of 12 and up, in a cabin belonging to my parents.

This pic. makes me speachless. This is how it really is during wintertime.

So beatifull and powerfull. Hugla on the left.

A little nostalgia pic. of buildings you can find up north of Norway. Tough life.

The sea so many people depended on giving them some food to cope the winter.

The church( very typical for that area) , white painted wooden churches, priests trying to comfort the loved ones left when the storm at sea took their husbands.

The pictures of your new house (last post) look beautiful, but they're nothing compared to these amazing pictures. Do you miss it?

Flotte bilder fra et område jeg elsker. Fant bloggen din via Google søk på Hugla og Skorpa. Jeg er selv fra dette området på Helgeland, men flyttet ut for snart 25 år siden. Du må skryte mer av området i bloggen.

Hei Anonoym.
Jo der er skønt der oppe. Savner det helt vildt indimellem.
Særlig når jeg trænger til "luft" .
Kommer selv fra Mo i Rana, men familien kommer fra øjan.

Hei Beate,
