"Sea" - Urchin.

The urchin is complete and taken to use by my lovely niece.
It was a little too big for me. She got longer hair that filles up the hat and the best: she loved it.
After all the trouble trying to work out the pattern I found on Knitty , and after several swatches, I decided to make my own version of it.

This is my version of the "Sea"Urhcin:

1rw:Knit.

2rw:K. to 2 last st. W&T.

3rw: knit to end.

4rw: K. to last st. before wrapped st. W&T.

5rw: Knit to end.

6rw: K. to last st. before wrapped st. W&T.
( Now 4 st. on wrapped side, the narrow side/end of the work.

7rw: K to 4 last st. W&T ( the wide side of work)- last 3 unknit and the 4th is wrapped.

8rw: K. to last st. before wrapped st. W&T(narrow side)

9rw: K. to 5 last st. W&T.

10rw: K. to last st. before wrapped st. W&T.

11rw: K. to 6 last st. W&T.

12rw: K. to last st. before wrapped st. W&T.(narrow side)

13rw: K. to 7 last st. W&T.

14rw: K. to last st. before wrapped st. W&T.

15rw: K. to 8 last st. W&T.( 5 st. wrapped in total on this wide side)

16rw: K to last st. before wrapped st. W&T. ( now 9 wrapped st. total on narrow side)

17rw: Knit to end.

18rw: Knit to end the st. +wrapped ones on the wide side.

19rw: Knit to end the st. + wrapped ones on the narrow side.

20rw: knit to end.

Repeat row 2 - 20 7 or 8 times , depending 0n type of yarn and needles.

Make a swatch to see how big your hat will be.
I used very big yarn(cant remeber what it´s called and size 7 mm.)- actually a little too big for me, but hey I have a very small head. Lucky me I have a niece that is "big headed".
